RYAN Noble has revealed he would “love” to return to Hartlepool United next season.
Neale Cooper has already sounded his interest in bringing the Sunderland striker back to Victoria Park in an extended loan deal.
And now Noble has confirmed he would jump at the chance of becoming one of Cooper’s first summer signings.
“I’d love to come back here next year,” the former England youth international declared today.
“The chance to play every week is much better than going anywhere else and being left wondering.
“It’s right on my doorstep as well and it’s a club and set of lads I really like.
“I feel part of the team here. They are a great bunch of lads and have made me so welcome.”
Noble scored the second goal of his loan stay at the weekend, heading home in style to seal a 2-1 win over Leyton Orient.
It was just the second time the 20-year-old has tasted victory in eight games for the club, but he admits the exposure to League One football has been invaluable.
“It’s been a good experience for me because it’s the first time I’ve felt part of a professional team,” he went on.
“It’s the first run in a team I’ve had as well. I’ve been out to places and it’s not worked out, but this has been great.
“Playing games is so important and it’s so different to reserve football.
“It’s more physical, faster and everyone is a step higher.
“Little things all add up and make a difference to improve you.”
Noble had comfortably amassed a double-figure tally for Sunderland’s reserves this season and has long since been a prolific marksman at second-string level.
However, he admits he would swap all of those goals for just one of his senior strikes.
“You can score goals in a reserve game and it doesn’t count as much as it does in a real game like this in League One,” he said.
“But I thought I would come here, knowing Hartlepool were struggling to score and thought I’d do it straight away.
“Then every time I didn’t score I was feeling bad for the team.
“I scored at Yeovil, which was unreal, my first professional goal and it won the game.
“But Saturday was better – I’ve not scored for a few games and it starts to get to you, so I was buzzing to score.
“I was starting to snatch at chances. At Tranmere last week in the first half I got past the defender and was through, but I snatched at it.
“That’s not me, but the more I get used to this level the more confident I’ll get and the more I’ll relax and the goals will come.”
