Alex Baptiste is promising to give 100 per cent for new club Middlesbrough.
The 29-year-old joined Boro from Bolton on Monday and is excited by the challenge to win promotion.
Baptiste, who made 34 appearances on loan for Blackburn last term, said: “I’ve played against a lot of players here, but I don’t really know anyone apart from being on the opposite team.
“It’s a new start for me – it didn’t quite work out at Bolton. I had a fantastic year at Blackburn and my challenges are always the same.
“I give 100 per cent every game and I’m an honest lad. That’s me in a nutshell, I’ll try my hardest for the squad and be good around the place.”
Boro boss Aitor Karanka enthused: “He’s the kind of player who people may think that he’s not a big signing – but, for me, he is because he’s very important in the squad.
“He has experience, he knows the league, and he can play across the defence.
“He’s the kind of player who can improve us a lot. I’m very happy he’s with us.”
