MIDDLESBROUGH will travel to Yorkshire to open and close their 2012-13 season with a potentially tricky game against Barnsley the season’s curtain raiser.
Boro have been handed, on paper at least, a fairly reassuring start to the season, with three home games in the first five – offering an early chance to rectify their poor home displays from last season.
Burnley are the first visitors on August 21, before Crystal Palace travel to the Riverside four days later.
Tony Mowbray’s side have a mouth-watering festive schedule with a trip to rivals Leeds on December 22, before they welcome Blackburn on Boxing Day and Blackpool on December 29 to Teesside.
Two recently-promoted teams bring the curtain down on Boro’s season - Charlton visit on April 27 and the Boro will travel to south Yorkshire on May 4 to take on Sheffield Wednesday on the last game of the season.
