MIDDLESBROUGH boss Tony Mowbray has added to his striker options by signing Manchester City striker Alex Tchuimeni-Nimely on a three-month loan.
Boro have been relying on Scott McDonald and Marvin Emnes up front following the summer departures of Kris Boyd and Leroy Lita.
Not that it has done Boro any harm given they went into today’s trip to Crystal Palace third in the npower Championship.
But Mowbray has been desperate to boost his frontline options and is excited by 20-year-old prospect Nimely, who has been a prolific goalscorer at youth and reserve team level.
The Boro boss said: “Having him here will give us some depth on the bench and some competition up front.
“I’m sure he’ll be looking to impress and force his way into the team.”
Nimely, who made his Man City first team debut in a 6-1 win over Burnley at Turf Moor, played 15 times for Liberia U20 but pledged his international allegiance to England and represented the Three Lions at the U-20 World Cup finals in 2009.
