MIDDLESBROUGH’S “forgotten midfielder” Didier Digard could well feature in Tony Mowbray’s plans for next season next season.
The 24-year-old, who will be the highest paid player at the club next season, has just spent the season on loan at Nice.
But a permanent deal does not look set to follow, so the midfielder is set to return for pre-season training.
Manager Mowbray has never seen Digard in action and is ready to give him his chance if he remains at the club.
Boro are desperate to get Digard off their wage bill, but if no deal is forthcoming then he could feature for the club.
“Digard is due to return for pre-season with the rest of the squad at the end of this month,” said Mowbary.
“Whatever happens after that remains to be seen.
“But he will train with the other players and if he is still here when the season starts, then he will be considered for selection.”
