Middlesbrough have been drawn away to Burton Albion in the second round of the Capital One Cup.

It is a tricky test for Boro at the League One new boys, who won 1-0 at Bolton in the first round in mid-week.

The Brewers are managed by former Boro striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, who took the club to promotion last season.

Boro, who reached the third round last season before losing an epic penaltry shoot-out at Liverpool, will start as favourites at the Pirelli Stadium.

Uruguay striker Christian Stuani scored twice as the Sky Bet Championship side reached the second second stage of the League Cup with a comfortable 3-1 win at League One Oldham.

The visitors had taken the lead in the first half when Yanic Wildschut raced onto a through ball to score.

Both Sunderland and Newcastle United drew League Two clubs, Exeter City and Northampton Town, at home while Hartlepool United will host Premier League newcomers Bournemouth.

The ties are due to be played on the week commencing Monday August 24.
