TONY Mowbray admits he needs to find the “right formula” at the Riverside if Middlesbrough are to win promotion.

Boro go into tonight’s “toughest challenge” against Leicester City in third place following a dream start to the season (kick-off 7.45pm).

But Mowbray’s team have yet to find top gear at the Riverside, with the 3-1 win over Birmingham their solitary success on home soil.

Boro’s other three games have produced draws, the most recent being Saturday’s goalless stalemate with Ipswich, who underlined their threat as Championship dangermen by winning at West Ham last night.

Mowbray knows more wins are needed at the Riverside, starting with tonight’s intriguing clash with Sven Goran Eriksson’s Foxes, who are going nicely in 12th.

“Ultimately, any team that is successful and right at the top of tables generally will pick up the majority of points at home,” said Mowbray.

“We’ve got to make sure that as the season unfolds that is the case for us.

“We just need to find the right formula for us, like Ipswich and Leicester seem to have done.”

Marvin Emnes and Joe Bennett are doubts for Boro.
