NEWCASTLE United have lost a trio of players to illness ahead of tomorrow night’s Capital One Cup tie against Crystal Palace.

Papiss Demba Cisse, Tim Krul and Yoan Gouffran will all miss the third-round tie after falling sick, according to BBC Radio Newcastle.

Their absence will further reduce United manager Alan Pardew’s options.

Pardew was already without injured pair Siem de Jong and Rolando Aarons.

Cisse scored two goals in Saturday’s 2-2 home draw against Hull City on what was his comeback from long-term injury.

Second-choice goalkeeper Rob Elliot, yet to play this season, will deputise for Krul.
