PAPISS Demba Cisse has an outside chance of returning for Newcastle United against Tottenham Hotspur.
The striker has been sidelined with a back problem.
And United manager Alan Pardew - who will again be without the suspended Loic Remy - is desperate to have him back given the shortage of firepower in his squad.
While Cheik Tiote (hamstring) and Fabricio Coloccini (knee) won’t be fit to face Tottenham, Cisse could be involved.
“Cheik’s got a great chance of Villa (on February 23,” Pardew said.
“Colo will be in and around it. Papiss will be fine by then.
“But Papiss will be the bonus if we can get him right for Wednesday.”
Pardew lost Mathieu Debuchy to a calf injury in Saturday night’s 3-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
And the defender won’t be avaiable against Spurs.
“It just adds to our issues,” said Pardew. “I think we all know Wednesday’s a tough game for us.
“We’re going to have four or five big players out, but they’re all on the verge of comebacks.”
