Daryl Janmaat returns to Newcastle starting XI, Papiss Cisse on bench

RETURN ... Daryl Janmaat.
RETURN ... Daryl Janmaat.

DARYL Janmaat returns to Newcastle United’s starting XI at Loftus Road this afternoon.

The defender missed last weekend’s 1-1 draw against West Bromwich Albion at St James’s Park through suspension.

But Janmaat will face Queens Park Rangers (3pm kick-off) at the expense of Vurnon Anita, who drops down to the bench.

Striker Papiss Demba Cisse – who returned from suspension last Saturday – is again among the substitutes along with fit-again Rolando Aarons.

Newcastle are two points above the Premier League’s relegation zone with two games left to play.

Defender Paul Dummett said: “I’ve not been in this position before, but I’m up for the fight. We’ve come here for three points.”

Former United midfielder Joey Barton starts for QPR along with striker Charlie Austin, who has been linked with a summer move to St James’s Park.
