DEMBA Ba is determined to sign off in style before he heads away for the African Cup of Nations.
The striker netted his 14th goal of an already remarkable season in yesterday’s 2-0 win over Bolton Wanderers.
And Ba is determined to carry on scoring before he joins his Senegal team-mates next month ahead of the tournament in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea, with Liverpool at Anfield next up for Newcastle.
Ba’s strike came two minutes after Hatem Ben Arfa broke the deadlock.
Gabriel Obertan delivered a cross from the byline, and the 26-year-old got the better of Gary Cahill hit the roof of the net to all but claim the points.
“It was a very important goal,” Ba told SportMail. “When you’re only winning 1-0, everything is possible, but 2-0 is a bit harder for Bolton.
“Hatem was brilliant for the goal and everybody’s happy.
“I’m just looking to enjoy every game before I go, like I always have done.”
