Man United tell Rooney to hand in transfer request while Arsenal and Man City compete for Fiorentina forward

WAYNE Rooney has been told he must hand in a transfer request if he wants to leave Manchester united, as Arsenal and Man City both chase the same striker.

The Daily Star today reports Arsenal and Manchester City could compete to sign forward Stevan Jovetic after Fiorentina hinted they were open to selling the 23-year-old for the right price.

Both teams are looking for a new frontman, and have been also linked with Rooney in the past.

And the Daily Mail today reports that the 27-year-old must submit a written transfer request if he wants to leave Old Trafford.
