ALAN Pardew today said he was “disappointed” at Paolo Di Canio’s sacking.
Sunderland sacked head coach Di Canio on Sunday after a dreadful run of early-season results.
Newcastle United manager Pardew felt Di Canio – who was forced out by a players’ revolt – brought “passion and enthusiasm” to the post.
He said: “With my LMA (League Managers’ Association) hat on, I was disappointed.
“He attacked the job with passion and enthusiasm.
“I have sympathy for him. I was sad to see him go.”
