ALAN Pardew is odds on favourite to be the next Premier League manager to lose his job.

Newcastle United fans called for Pardew’s dismissal during yesterday’s 4-0 defeat to Southampton at the St Mary’s Stadium.

And Pardew is now 1/3 to win the sack race, with West Bromwich Albion’s Alan Irvine and West Ham United’s Sam Allardyce both chalked up at 7/1.

Pardew refused to speak to the written Press after the Southampton game, and United have made no comment today on the 53-year-old’s future.

However, Hull City manager Steve Bruce moved to distance himself from speculation linking him with the Newcastle job.

“I find it very disrespectful that I’m linked with somebody else’s job when he’s still in the job,” Wallsend-born Bruce told BBC Radio 5 Live.

“I’m just concentrating on our game against West Ham on Monday.

“I’m like any other manager. When I see another manager under huge pressure like Alan is - and it was only a few years ago I was in the same sort of situation - it isn’t nice.

“After what happened to me at Sunderland, I know how difficult the North East is.

“I have only been at Hull a couple of years, and they have been really good.

“They gave me the chance to get up and running again, and for that I will always be grateful.”

Bruce’s side are United’s next opponents, with the two sides meeting at St James’s Park on Saturday.
