FABRICIO Coloccini’s facing a gruelling 6,500-mile round trip to the Middle East next month.
Coloccini has been called up by Argentina, along with Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, for a friendly against Saudi Arabia in Riyadh on November 14.
The game is sandwiched between Newcastle’s Premier League fixtures against West Ham United and Swansea City.
And the unwanted journey will be a concern for United manager Alan Pardew.
However, Pardew is unable to block his participation in the game.
Coloccini, 30, has only just returned from a hamstring problem originally suffered while last on international duty.
Sergio Aguero, Gonzalo Higuain and Javier Mascherano have also been called up by Argentina coach Alejandro Sabella. Wigan Athletic’s uncapped striker Franco Di Santo is also in the squad.
* Tickets for Newcastle’s away games against Southampton and Stoke City are now on sale to season-ticket holders with 25 or more loyalty points.
