FABRICIO Coloccini sees a future for himself in management – but he isn’t ready to hang up his boots yet.

Coloccini will return to Newcastle United’s starting XI this afternoon after serving a three-game ban.

And the 33-year-old, the club’s long-serving captain, is focused on ending a five-game losing streak against Tottenham Hotspur at St James’s Park.

However, in the longer term, Coloccini sees himself going into management.

Asked about following in the footsteps of Argentinian countryman Mauricio Pochettino, Tottenham’s head coach, he told United’s programme: “It’s something I have always liked the idea of, so one day, maybe.

“There’s a lot of pressure in management, but that’s not something that concerns me.

“Being a manager is a job in which you have to use your brain and knowledge to help the players and the tema, and that’s something I would enjoy.

“If it happens, though, it’s a long way in the future as I still have time left to keep playing.

“All I’m concentrating on at the moment is keeping fit and being ready to pull on the Newcastle shirt every week.

“Whatever the future holds, I’ll decide when I retire.”
