TEENAGER Olivier Kemen has joined Newcastle United.
The midfielder has joined the club from French club Metz.
Kemen is a France Under-17 international.
Last month, the 16-year-old told of his keenness to join Newcastle, which has a large French-speaking contingent of players.
“Newcastle is a big team, and they look after young players,” he said.
“If they agree everything with Metz, I will join them.
“There are some good French speaking people there, so I can settle there fine on the guidance of everyone there.”
Kemen is the club’s first summer signing. United are yet to make a senior acquisition.
Newcastle earlier confirmed that Jak Alnwick, Jonathan Mitchell, Paul Dummett, Conor Newton, Michael Richardson and Alex Gilliead had signed new deals at St James’s Park.
