CHEIK Tiote is out of Newcastle United’s Europa League tie – and “doubtful” for Sunday’s home game against Aston Villa.

The midfielder has missed the club’s last two games with a calf injury.

And Tiote won’t be involved in the second leg of United’s qualifier against Greek club Atromitos.

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew said: “Cheik is still injured and I think he’s doubtful for the weekend.”

Pardew has better news on forward Haris Vuckic, who has recovered from a minor injury, though Shola and Sammy Ameobi and Shane Ferguson remain sidelined.

“Haris Vuckic is over a knock and he’ll be available, which is useful,” said Pardew. “He’s shown up really well pre-season.

“But Shola is injured. Sammy and Fergie won’t feature. Everybody else is OK.”
