DANNY Simpson will be fit for tomorrow night’s visit to Birmingham City.
Simpson was substituted in Saturday’s goalless draw against Blackburn Rovers, with James Perch coming on for the last 14 minutes.
But Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has revealed Simpson was suffering nothing more than cramp at Ewood Park, having run himself into the ground along with fellow full-back Jose Enrique.
“Danny just cramped u,p and so would anybody else,” Pardew said.
“The two full-backs were raiding both sides. Enrique was absolutely brilliant today, and Danny’s fine for Birmingham.”
Pardew won’t have anyone back from injury for the game at St Andrew’s, which is the second of a hugely important three-match sequence, with Bolton Wanderers coming to St James’s Park on February 26.
