NEWCASTLE United have announced they will host Spanish side Real Sociedad in a friendly on Sunday, August 10.
The fixture, United’s only friendly at St James’s Park, completes Alan Pardew’s side’s warm-up to the new season.
Sociedad finished seventh in La Liga last season, having also played in the Champions League where they faced Manchester United in the group stage.
The game rounds off a busy summer for Newcastle. As well as away games on British soil against Oldham Athletic, Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield United, the Magpies will also travel to New Zealand and Germany, where they will play two matches on each tour.
Kick off for the Sociedad game is 1.30pm, with ticket details yet to be announced.
