NEWCASTLE United’s Dan Gosling has admitted to a Football Association betting charge.
Under FA rules, players are not allowed to bet on games involving their clubs, or on leagues and competitions in which their team plays.
A statement from the FA read: “Newcastle United midfielder Dan Gosling has admitted an FA charge in relation to multiple breaches of Rule E8(b) for misconduct in relation to betting.
“Gosling has requested a personal hearing, the date of which will be set in due course.”
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Andros Townsend admitted the same charge in June last year, and was suspended from all football for four months, three of which were suspended.
Townsend was also fined £18,000.
