PAPISS Demba Cisse is relishing going head to head with his footballing idol when Newcastle United take on Anzhi Makhachkala.

Striker Samuel Eto’o, one of the all-time greats of African football, is a hero of Cisse’s.

And the pair are set to meet on the pitch at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow on Thursday night.

The Cameroonian – who has played for Barcelona, Real Madrid and Inter Milan – is the most decorated African player of all time.

And the 31-year-old – also reportedly the highest-paid player in world football – is a long-standing friend of Senegal international Cisse.

“He’s an idol for me,” Cisse said. “Samuel’s an extraordinary player, and somebody who has played at the very top level for club and country.

“He’s one of the best attackers in the game.

“Samuel is somebody I have known for a long time, and a person who I have a great deal of respect for.”
