ALAN Pardew has included a clutch of young players in his squad for tomorrow night’s game against Bordeaux.
The club’s flight to France was delayed by heavy snowfall at Newcastle Airport this afternoon.
Winger Jonas Gutierrez stayed behind on Tyneside to rest ahead of Monday night’s Premier League game at Fulham.
Teenage striker Adam Campbell – who wasn’t expected to feature until next month because of a knee injury – is in United’s 20-man squad for the group stage game.
Midfielders Conor Newton, 21, and Yven Moyo, 20, have also been included by Pardew, who is expected to make a significant number of changes for the match.
Newton and Moyo are yet to make their first-team debuts for the club.
Midfielder Mehdi Abeid and striker Nile Ranger also travelled.
As expected, Pardew also left behind Demba Ba, Cheik Tiote, Davide Santon. The trio all suffered minor injuries in Monday night’s 3-0 win over Wigan Athletic.
Both Newcastle and Bordeaux have already qualified for the Europa League’s Round of 32.
