NEWCASTLE United captain Fabricio Coloccini has claimed he is still keen to join San Lorenzo.
Coloccini has been quoted in his homeland saying he would like to join the Argentinian club “as soon as possible”.
San Lorenzo attempted to sign Coloccini in January – and again in the summer – but eventually conceded defeat after United fiercely fended off their interest.
However, the 31-year-old has been quoted by Ole as saying he still hankers after a move to the club, where his father Osvaldo is a youth coach.
“You never know what can happen in football,” he said.
“In January, we did all we could for a possible return to San Lorenzo, but I always made it clear that Newcastle would have the last word.
“The club have invested a lot in me, and I must show respect towards them.
“I have to speak the truth though, and I would like to return as soon as possible.”
