NEWCASTLE Utd will kick off their 2013-14 season with a tough trip to Manchester City.
The new fixtures, released today, send the Magpies to the Etihad on Saturday, 17 August, to take on City under new boss Manuel Pellegrini.
The first home game is against West Ham United – and former Toon boss Sam Allardyce – on Saturday, 24 August.
United fans will be looking forward to two mouth-watering derby clashes with old rivals Sunderland.
The first will provisionally take place on Saturday, 26 October when they travel to Sunderland’s Stadium of Light.
The return fixture at St James’s Park is on Saturday, 1 February.
Over the festive period Newcastle are at home to Stoke City on Boxing Day and entertain Arsenal on Saturday, January 28 before travelling to West Brom on New Year’s Day.
