Gutierrez had been linked with a move away from the club before he agreed a new deal, and Pardew believes he and the club are benefitting from the faith they have put in the Argentina international.
“Jonas is in some of the best form I’ve seen from him,” Pardew told SportMail.
“Sometimes when players sign contracts, they just come off the pedal a little bit. Jonas has gone the other way.
“I didn’t sign him, so maybe he’s got a little bit of belief that the manager here loves him and wants him to play well. That might just be arming him, and he’s playing so well at the minute.”
