RYAN Taylor has suffered ANOTHER cruciate ligament injury – and it is fear he will be sidelined for all of next season.
The 28-year-old had been close to a comeback for Newcastle United.
Taylor suffered a cruciate ligament injury against Atromitos in August – and had been hoping to return before the end of the season.
But the utility player is suffered a setback, and the club fear he could miss ALL of season.
United manager Alan Pardew said: “Ryan has worked so hard and diligently since his injury.
“He has been a model patient, and has given his all to ensure he could return to full training in the best condition possible.
“Clearly, everyone at the club is deeply saddened by this news.
“Ryan has, and will continue to, receive the full support of everyone at Newcastle United during this difficult time for him.”
A club statement added: “It is likely that Taylor will miss the majority, if not all, of next season.”
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Tim Krul will have an operation on the shoulder he dislocated in the Tyne-Wear derby on Monday.
Newcastle expect Krul, 25, to return to training in late July.
