ALAN Pardew hs put his faith in Newcastle United’s managing director Derek Llambias to deliver the signings he needs.
Newcastle have already had a £5million bid for Mathieu Debuchy rejected by Lille.
Up to now, the only arrivals, most recently teenage defender Curtis Good, have been low-key.
But Pardew knows he needs to add experience to his squad ahead of the Premier League season-opener against Tottenham Hotspur on August 18 – and the club’s Europa League qualifier.
Newcastle could yet increase its bid for Debuchy, who is desperate to join United.
“It’s out of my hands now,” Pardew said.
“We’ve done the selection process and put a number of players in front of Derek and Lee (Charnley) and now it’s about getting the players who can take the club forward.
“It’s never easy at this level.
“But the one thing I do know is that we’re getting the right noises from the players. They want to come.
“That’s because of the success we had last year – that bodes well.
“It’s just about getting the deals right.”
