GABRIEL Obertan’s thigh injury is set to keep the Newcastle United winger out for “some time”, according to manager Alan Pardew.
Pardew has confirmed Obertan tore the muscle in his thigh in last week’s win over Liverpool.
Some reports have suggested the in-form Frenchman could be out for as long as five months, but Pardew has not yet put a date on his return.
He said: “Gabriel Obertan has torn the muscle in his thigh and will be out for some time. He won’t be back in the short-term.”
