LIVERPOOL are back in the transfer headlines today as they are linked with a Slovenian midfielder – while Newcastle’s hopes of signing Loic Remy could be scuppered.

The Daily Star reports today that West Ham are hopeful of agreeing a deal with QPR to sign striker Loic Remy.

The 26-year-old is one of a handful of strikers Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is interested in, having admitted he is on a shortlist along with Darren Bent and Bafetimbi Gomis.

Meanwhile, the Daily Express says Liverpool are considering a £10m bid for Palermo midfielder Josip Ilicic.

The 25-year-old, however, could be on his way to Fiorentina.

Elsewhere, the Sun reports that Real Madrid have warned Manchester United off Cristiano Ronaldo, with president Florentino Perez insisting the 28-year-old forward will sign a new deal to end his career at the Bernabeu.
