NEWCASTLE United’s Europa League opponents Metalist Kharkiv have arranged a friendly on Tyneside – against non-league club Whitley Bay.
The Northern League side will host them at Hillheads on Sunday night (7pm kick-off).
Metalist take on Newcastle at St James’s Park in the first leg of a Round of 32 Europa League tie next Thursday. The return leg will be played a week later.
The Ukrainian side haven’t played a competitive game since early December, with their league on a winter break until March 1.
And the game has been arranged so the squad can top up their fitness.
Whitley Bay have three South Tynesiders – Paul Chow, Lee Paul Scroggins and Lee Kerr – in their ranks.
Admission to Hillheads is £10 for adults and £5 for concessions.
Newcastle fans have been asked not to wear black and white shirts and scarves out of respect for the opposition, who are fourth in the Ukrainian league.
