NEWCASTLE United have not progressed beyond the FA Cup’s fourth round in Danny Guthrie’s Toon career.

But the midfielder is confident the club has the foundations in place to put that right this weekend..

Guthrie and his team-mates take on Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium on Saturday looking to book a place in the competition’s fifth round.

“The manager has already said he likes the FA Cup and I think it’ll be a strong team,” Guthrie said.

“Brighton’s a good draw. They’re a good footballing side. I’ve seen them play a couple of times on telly and it’ll be a good tie.”
