Newcastle United’s Sylvain Marveaux may miss season with injury
Sylvain Marveaux may be out for the season.
SYLVAIN Marveaux is desperate to rejoin Newcastle United’s Premier League campaign – but the winger admits he faces a battle to play again this season.
Marveaux had hip and groin surgery after breaking down against Everton in November.
And the 25-year-old faces another two months of rehabilitation before he can rejoin training, leaving him just a few weeks to get match fit before the end of the season.
Marveaux missed the bulk of last season with a groin problem, and he had hoped his injury problems were finally behind him when he joined Newcastle last summer on a free transfer from French club Rennes.
“I’m not thinking of playing again yet – I want to do it step by step,” Marveaux told SportMail.
“I’m working to train again. I don’t know if I will play, because I won’t train for two more months, but if I can help, I will.”
