Seaton Carew hold girls and women’s football day on Sunday at Hornby Park

SEATON Carew Football club are hosting a womens’ football day on Sunday to raise money for charity and get more women into the sport.

The open-to-all-day at Hornby Park will include small-sided games to raise money for Barnardos as well as an ‘Inspired’ event to help get women and girls into the game.

The club are also hosting a showcase match between Seaton U15/16 v Redcar Town Girls at 11am.

Edie Coates, head of women’s and girls’ development at Seaton Carew FC said: “We’re hoping for good weather and a good turn out.”

“The day gets underway with the mini games at 9.30am, followed by the showcase match at 11am with the Inspired project beginning at 1pm.”

The women’s and girl’s football day will take place at Seaton’s Hornby Park on Elizabeth Way on Sunday.

Hartlepool recently staged an England women’s international, with the Three Lions defeating Sweden at Victoria Park.
