FORMER Sunderland defender Andrea Dossena has signed for League One club Leyton Orient.
Dossena has been without a club since being released by Sunderland last summer, following the conclusion of his one-year deal at the Stadium of Light.
But the 33-year-old has signed for Orient - now under the stewardship of fellow Italian Mauro Milanese - on a contract until the end of the season.
The former Liverpool man made only seven Premier League appearances for Sunderland after being signed on a Bosman deal by ex-Black Cats director of football Roberto De Fanti.
He failed to appear under Gus Poyet following March’s 2-1 defeat at Liverpool and was told he could leave the club before the end of the campaign after the Sunderland boss was unimpressed with his attitude on the training field.
