FORMER Sunderland boss Mick McCarthy has rubbished suggestions that released Black Cats defender Titus Bramble is training with Ipswich Town.
Bramble had been linked with a return to Portman Road after reaching the end of his Sunderland contract and reports over the weekend suggested the 31-year-old would join the Tractor Boys in their pre-season programme.
But Ipswich manager McCarthy, whose squad assembled for the start of pre-season today, insists there has been no contact with Bramble or his representatives.
“It’s never even crossed my mind,” said McCarthy.
“Titus Bramble will have other clubs interested in him, in the Premier League, and I have not spoken to the player or his agent.”
