GUS POYET has a clean bill of health for this weekend’s crunch relegation showdown with Crystal Palace.
The Sunderland boss was without injured duo Wes Brown and Craig Gardner for last weekend’s FA Cup quarter final defeat at Hull, while Jozy Altidore and Valentin Roberge also missed out through illness.
But the quartet have all trained without any problems during the last two days and are all available for Saturday’s visit of fifth bottom Palace.
Head coach Poyet said today: “Everyone is fit apart from Westy (Keiren Westwood).
“Everyone has trained the last two days - Wes Brown is back, Jozy was ill but he’s back, as are Valentin and Craig Gardner.
“We’ve got a full squad, playing at home and we’re going to get great support.”
Poyet lost over two legs against Palace in last season’s Championship play-offs, while in charge at former club Brighton.
But with Palace now under the stewardship of Tony Pulis and changing both players and their footballing philosophy, Poyet is not reading too much into his previous encounters against the Eagles.
“They’ve changed the style since promotion, as well as the personnel,” he added.
“But it’s a very important game. It’s the sort of game we need to win.”
