SUNDERLAND had some positive injury news today, with Jack Rodwell – who missed Monday’s victory at Crystal Palace with a minor calf strain – back on the training field.
Black Cats boss Gus Poyet says that has presented him with a refreshing selection dilemma over whether to pick ex-Everton man Rodwell or Liam Bridcutt to replace the suspended Lee Cattermole against Everton on Sunday.
“Rodwell trained today for the first time,” Poyet said.
“We’ll see how he responds tomorrow. Luckily he’s fit.
“Liam is desperate and ready to play.
“It will be interesting for me to see the team without Lee Cattermole.
“Let’s see if we can play the way we can.
“It’s a decision between those two to see who plays that role.”
