Sunderland AFC news: Fixture list released, pre-season details announced

The fixture list will be released at 9am tomorrow, as Sam Allardyce begins his first full season in charge at the Stadium of Light.

Before Sunderland begin their competitive programme, they face a number of pre-season friendlies, with ticket prices confirmed for the trip to Rotherham on Saturday, July 23 (kick-off 3pm).

Advanced tickets are £13 for adults, £8 for over-60s and £1 for under-16s, with prices increased by £2 on the day of the game if they have not sold out.

The application process for Sunderland fans will be announced in due course.

Meanwhile, Sunderland midfielder Emanuele Giaccherini has been discussing his goal for Italy in last night's Euro 2016 victory over Belgium.

Giaccherini - who spent last season on loan at Bologna - was excellent in the 2-0 win, despite the uncertainty over his future with the Black Cats.

"In my view this was a thoroughly deserved victory from everyone," said Giaccherini.
