Sunderland are again keeping tabs on French striker Sebastien Haller.
Reports have indicated that Sunderland will scout the FC Utrecht frontman against Ajax today after he has netted 10 goals in 14 outings for the Dutch side this season.
Haller was among Sunderland's targets during the summer, but they were unwilling to meet Utrecht's £6million asking price for the 6ft 2in 21-year-old.
Sunderland's wastefulness in front of goal cost them for the second successive game against Watford yesterday and they have been looking at possible January additions up front, with QPR's Charlie Austin one of those under consideration.
But the Black Cats are also looking at central defensive options, with the lack of depth in that area again highlighted after Younes Kaboul missed the Watford defeat through illness.
