GUS POYET has denied an FA charge of improper conduct, following Sunderland’s draw at Hull last week.

The Sunderland boss drew the attention of the authorities for kicking over a bucket of water bottles during the 1-1 draw at the KC Stadium, which saw him sent to the stands.

That is understood to have been the only charge levelled at Poyet, despite the Uruguayan being involved in an ugly confrontation with Hull manager Steve Bruce as he made his way down the tunnel.

Poyet had until 6pm today to respond to the charge, and he has decided to deny it, while requesting a personal hearing from the FA.
