GUS Poyet says he will give the FA Cup tie against Hull City this weekend total respect - even though he regards the game against Crystal Palace the following weekend as “bigger than Wembley!”
He said: “I always concentrate on the next game and only that.
“But this time it has been difficult for me not to think about Palace.
“In my view that’s the biggest game of the season for us - bigger even than the Wembley cup final we’ve just been involved in.
“But we have Hull this weekend and a week before the Palace game, so I’ve tried to shut Palace out of my mind and will concentrate only on Hull.”
Almost 4,000 Sunderland fans are heading to the KC Stadium this weekend.
And Poyet acknowledges that for their sake, Sunderland have to put on as good a performance as possible.
“The fans are going to be pushing us to be at Wembley again and we will respect that,” he said.
“We will not be fielding a weakened team, we will not be making 10 changes and we will look to win the game on the day.
