Sunderland’s Sessegnon hails his new strike partner Fraizer Campbell
Sunderland's Fraizer Campbell celebrates scoring against Norwich.
STEPHANE Sessegnon believes he can form an effective double-act with strike partner Fraizer Campbell after the duo helped Sunderland coast past Norwich City.
Both Sessegnon and Campbell got their name on the scoresheet in last night’s 3-0 victory at the Stadium of Light as a fourth win in five Premier League outings moved the Black Cats up to eighth in the table.
It was the forward duo’s first outing together as a partnership, with Martin O’Neill opting for Campbell ahead of Connor Wickham or Ji Dong-won, -despite the 24-year-old only returning from a 17-month lay-off in Sunday’s Wear-Tees derby.
But O’Neill’s selection paid off as Campbell continued his fairytale return to action with a spectacular 25-yard volley for his second goal in four days, before turning provider with the cross for Sessegnon to double Sunderland’s advantage.
Sessegnon told SportMail: “Fraizer’s a player who it’s really easy to play alongside.”
