SUNDERLAND trio Modibo Diakite, Cabral and Alfred N’Diaye have all been left without a squad number for the new campaign.

Last summer’s Bosman signings Diakite and Cabral have both been told they are not part of Gus Poyet’s plans after being snubbed from Sunderland’s pre-season trip to Portugal last month.

And neither were included on the list of players today released by Sunderland, who have been handed numbers.

Neither is N’Diaye included, with the Senegal international expected to depart before the end of the transfer window after Sunderland accepted a bid from Spanish side Real Betis.

N’Diaye is yet to agree personal terms with Betis, but there are several other clubs chasing the 24-year-old. La Liga outfit Elche, who have just sold midfielder Carlos Sanchez to Aston Villa, were the latest to be linked with N’Diaye today.

However, striker Danny Graham, who is also for up sale, has been handed the number 19 shirt.

New signings Costel Pantilimon (1), Billy Jones (2), Patrick van Aanholt (3), Jack Rodwell (8), Jordi Gomez (14), Santiago Vergini (27) and Will Buckley (30) have all been allocated their new numbers.

Youngsters Mikael Mandron (38), Martin Smith (40), Duncan Watmore (41), Liam Agnew (42) and Joel Dixon (48) have also been handed numbers.
