DAVID VAUGHAN has ended his two-and-a-half year stint at Sunderland after completing his move to Nottingham Forest.

Vaughan joined Forest on a two-month loan in November after failing to make an appearance under Gus Poyet.

The 30-year-old, who was out of contract at the Stadium of Light in the summer, was always expected to join Forest on a permanent deal and after a month of negotiations, the Welsh international has sealed his switch until the end of the season.

Vaughan made 59 appearances for the Black Cats after joining on a Bosman deal from Blackpool in the summer of 2011.
