SUNDERLAND defender John Egan has completed a loan move to League Two Bradford City.
The paperwork on Egan’s two-month switch to Valley Parade was sealed in time for the 20-year-old to train with the Bantams yesterday, potentially ahead of a debut in tonight’s clash with Chesterfield.
Bradford boss Phil Parkinson has been eager to boost his back-line after former Middlesbrough defender Andrew Davies joined fellow centre-half Luke Oliver on the long-term injury list.
And after seeing Egan in action for Sunderland’s Under-21s in last Thursday’s 2-0 victory over Aston Villa, Parkinson moved to take the Irishman on loan.
This will be the third loan switch to the Football League for Cork-born Egan after making a combined three appearances during month-long stints with Crystal Palace and Sheffield United last season.
