Mixed fortunes for Storm

FORMER champion Graeme Storm suffered a rare day when bogeys outnumbered birdies on his scorecard.

Storm signed for a second round 72 at the Open de France yesterday to reach the halfway stage in 141 (one under par).

The 31-year-old, who was in super touch at the BMW international in Munich last week and in the first round in Paris on Thursday, made a steady start at Le Golf National yesterday.

Starting on the 10th, he parred his first seven holes before sinking a birdie three at the 17th.

Storm also scored a birdie at the fourth, a 486-yard par four, but three bogeys on his homeward nine – at the first, second and seventh – cost him.

The 2007 French champion had covered the same nine holes in 32 the previous afternoon but his Friday figure of 38 meant he finished his round with a one-over-par 72.
