JAMES Stabler has hit the spot after getting off to a flyer at the start of the outdoor archery season – and he will receive a badge of honour for his achievements.
The Dyke House Sports & Technology College student secured two impressive victories to highlight the progress he has made.
Firstly the 13-year-old secured the junior Backworth open title when he recorded a new personal best score of 953, which included an all gold end at 40 yards that meant he hit the centre of the target with all six arrows.
The Dyke House Elite Development Squad scholar’s perfect performance ensures he will be awarded a badge from Archery GB.
Stabler, who represents Seaton Heugh Bowmen, followed up that display by retaining his Hartlepool Amalgamation title which was open to competitors throughout the North-East.
