BLACKHALL’S Dave Prins has crashed out of the BDO World Darts Championships in the last-16 after a 4-0 defeat to Stephen Bunting.
Prins, in the second round for the first time in five Lakeside appearances, vowed that he would win the tournament should he get past the favourite.
Unfortunately, the left-hander is heading back to East Durham after an exceptional Bunting whitewashed him.
Prins scored very well, hitting five 180s, but his finishing was wayward as opposed to Bunting whose checkout percentage was 67 per cent.
The first set ended 3-1 and the ensuing three sets all finished 3-0 to Bunting.
Prins was the 8/1 outsider to win the match but could not handle the throwing of The Bullet.
Prins told BBC Sport afterwards: “Stephen never let a tall, he was amazing. That’s why he is number one.
“He didn’t give me a chance.
“I’m happy with my performance this week. Bring on next year.
