DAVE Prins collected 16 BDO Darts World Championship qualifying points at the Isle of Man open at the weekend.
The Badger enjoyed another strong weekend at the scene of his 2010 triumph, including a victory over ‘Silverback, Tony O’Shea.
The Blackhall thrower reached the last-16 where he was involved in a gripping showdown with Martin Adams.
Prins broke his opponent to take a 2-1 lead and would have taken a two-leg advantage against ‘Wolfie’ had he not missed two shots at double 16.
Adams punished him for his mistake and raced in front, despite Prins holding his throw in one leg, to win 5-3.
“I made a good fist of it and it was a good weekend,” he told SportMail.
“I beat Tony O’Shea 4-1 in an earlier round and that proved that I can compete with the circuit’s best.”
Prins has now filled five of the required 12 Lakeside boxes and goes to the April German Open looking to add to his points tally.
